Hello there :)

Yoko Chen, originally from China, is a Producing Fellow in the class of 2024 at the American Film Institute and a Film major graduate from the School of Visual Arts in New York.

 

Her films focus on exploring social issues and authentic stories from diverse cultures and communities, with a particular interest in “slice of life” dramas that resonate strongly with audiences. Over the past six years, Yoko has produced numerous short film projects across various genres and has collaborated with filmmakers from around the world.

 

Notable projects include The Last Piece of Fallen Leaf, a finalist for Best Short Film at both Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival and WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, and Escargot, which won Best Student Film at the New York International Film Awards. Eclipse, a short film written, directed, and produced by Yoko, was nominated for Best Producer and Best Director at the Chain NYC Film Festival.
